A web developer will use various software development tools such as Dreamweaver, Visual Studio, Flash and Photoshop to build websites with web graphics, and animation.
A web developer may be involved in some or all aspects of web server administration.
A web developer and design specialist with an associate's degree has the skills necessary for employment in the web development field or to work as a freelance web developer.

The range of annual salary for a Fox Valley Tech graduate with entry-level skills is $27,040 - $99,000 with an average hourly pay rate of $22.18 per hour. The web developer may work an average of 41 hours per week.
Fox Valley Tech does not have information regarding the salaries of students who graduated in the Web Development and Design Specialist program five years out because; this program had graduates beginning in 2006.
